Epithelial Cells

The epithelium is the interface between the body and the external environment. It covers all outside surfaces and inside lumina e.g. the inner lining of the respiratory tract. In addition, epithelial cells also make up exocrine and endocrine glands. The functions of epithelial cells are diverse and include absorption, secretion, protection, transcellular transport, and sensation.

Typically, epithelial tissue is made of tightly packed cells with little intercellular space and is arranged in flat sheets forming effective barriers between the underlying tissues and the external environment.

PromoCell offers epithelial cells from different locations:
Airways: Nasal mucosa, trachea, bronchi, and distal respiratory tract
