Human Prostate Smooth Muscle Cells (HPrSMC)

HPrSMC are isolated from the prostate from single donors and stain positive for smooth muscle a-actin. The prostate produces secretions that get into the urethra through contraction of the smooth muscle cells.
Prostate smooth muscle cells can be involved in prostitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). HPrSMC can be used to study these prostate diseases or physiological processes in vitro.
