Human Placental Epithelial Cells (HPlEpC)
HPlEpC are isolated from the amniotic membrane and stain positive for cytokeratin.
Placental Epithelial Cells are of fetal origin and form a single layer at the inner surface of the amnion. They protect the fetus against maternal leukocytes, neoplastic cells, and pathogens. Cultured HPlEpC are suitable for physiological and pathological studies of amniotic functions.
