Hepatocyte Maintenance Medium
The PromoCell Hepatocyte Growth Medium is a serum-free medium developed for the cultivation of human hepatocytes. It is supplemented with well chosen growth factors and hormones and suited for long-term cultivation.
In situations where the media compounds of the Hepatocyte Growth Medium interfere with certain experimental setups, we recommend using the PromoCell Hepatocyte Maintenance Medium. This medium is developed for short-term cultivation and contains fewer supplements.
Note: Under standard in vitro cell culture conditions, mature human hepatocytes usually do not survive for longer than 10-14 days and do not proliferate.
The media are optimized for primary human hepatocytes but can also be used for porcine hepatocytes.
